TL;DR

Contracts Manager (Legal): Managing commercial and technology transactions for a cutting-edge AI research company with an accent on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement and SaaS agreements. Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA (office attendance required at least 25% of the time)

Salary: $170,000 - $220,000 USD

What you will do

  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate complex commercial transactions, including SaaS and IP licensing agreements.
  • Propose and implement scalable solutions to improve overall contracting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Research, Product, Finance, Security, Business Operations, and Procurement teams to deliver business-focused counsel.
  • Streamline contract management processes and identify potential operational risks.
  • Provide legal support across multiple areas of the organization as a member of a lean legal team.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology startup environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Proven autonomy in managing complex contractual matters and meeting competing deadlines.
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally with technical teams building frontier technologies.
  • Preference for straightforward, concise communication over complex legalese.
  • Must be based in or able to work from New York City or San Francisco.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of related contract management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting technology transactions, vendor engagements, or partnerships.
  • Deep knowledge of software, reseller, and services agreements.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
