TL;DR

Lead Solutions Architect (Data Centers): Leading the design of power architecture from grid to data center load with an accent on high-reliability substations, BESS, and PV integration. Focus on ensuring Tier III/IV reliability standards, performing FMEA, and optimizing distributed energy resources for 50MW sites.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the United States)

Salary: $146,000 – $190,000 per year

What you will do

  • Define and own the overall power system architecture for data centers from utility point of interconnection through IT load.
  • Design high-reliability substations aligned with Tier III / Tier IV standards for data centers up to 50MW.
  • Lead failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and reliability assessments.
  • Design on-site generation assets including BESS, diesel or gas turbine generators, and photovoltaic (PV) systems.
  • Coordinate technical engagement with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and interconnection authorities.
  • Establish design standards and provide technical oversight during design reviews, commissioning, and energization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in power system design for mission-critical, industrial, utility-scale, or data center environments.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Strong expertise in high-reliability substations, MV/LV distribution, protection and control systems, and microgrid architectures.
  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools for load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash studies.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of BESS or PV project experience.
  • Experience with grid-interactive or grid-forming power systems.
  • Familiarity with sustainability-driven power strategies and local permitting processes.
