Senior / Lead Automation Engineer

What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary projects across feasibility, conceptual and schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Design industrial automation hardware and control systems for pharmaceutical, biologics, and cell and gene therapy manufacturing facilities.
• Review system integrator and vendor documentation, control panel designs, instrumentation selections, PLC software, SCADA applications, and HMIs.
• Coordinate automation contractors and act as the liaison between process or mechanical engineering teams and system integrators.
• Analyze complex engineering problems, perform technical analyses, and support proposals, budgets, resourcing, and change control.
• Lead peer reviews, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, participate in client meetings, and conduct site visits and FAT/SAT commissioning tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 10+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design, preferably in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cell and gene therapy projects.
• Experience with industrial control system design, software development, and PLC/DCS-based control systems.
• Knowledge of S88, GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and ControlNet.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of specifications and contract documents.
• Ability to work independently with clients, vendors, project field personnel, and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple-office project execution.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cell and gene therapy sectors.
