What you will do
- Develop technical architectures, roadmaps, and implementations to improve manufacturing reliability and efficiency through automation.
- Collaborate with data science teams to pair control system development with IoT analytics for data-driven enhancements.
- Perform electrical design and modification of industrial control and safety systems.
- Design and program PLCs and robots, including process control systems such as machine vision and torque tools.
- Develop data collection solutions and support SCADA applications using Ignition, Kepware, and AWS.
- Provide production support for sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with automation software languages (e.g., Ladder, ST, C/C++).
- 6+ years of experience with controls environments like Siemens TIA Portal and Allen Bradley Control Logix.
- 6+ years of experience in 'from scratch' software development for automated tooling or equipment.
- Ability to interpret and review electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong skills in design and process simplification.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
Nice to have
- B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Controls Engineering.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06.
- Experience with high-level languages such as Python or C#.
- Experience with NC programming (G-code, TP, Karel) and electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience maintaining controls code from source control.
