What you will do

• Develop PLC and HMI system programs and hardware designs for manufacturing, processing, and utilities facilities.
• Act as project manager to ensure execution is within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Direct designers in the creation of automation installation drawings, data sheets, and specifications.
• Write functional descriptions and lead factory and site acceptance tests.
• Lead onsite system commissioning, startup support, and conduct operator training.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance for junior Automation Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Minimum 5+ years of automation engineering experience in process, manufacturing, or utility industrial facilities.
• Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Proficiency in PLC systems (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Omron) and HMI/SCADA systems (Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Adroit Ignite).
• Ability to interpret and design P&IDs, including instrumentation and control loop concepts.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Decatur, AL.
