RF Engineer (Wireless)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Overland Park, KS, US. U.S. citizenship required.

What you will do

• Lead and execute Microwave (MW) and wireless engineering activities from initial survey through implementation, testing, and optimization.
• Perform link budget calculations, reliability analysis, and path feasibility studies for wireless systems.
• Design and optimize MW links using Pathloss 6, including terrain profiling and fade margin calculations.
• Conduct MW path surveys, including line-of-sight (LOS) verification, obstacle identification, and structure validation.
• Model and optimize wireless technologies, such as Narrow Band, LTE/5G, and Land Mobile Radio, using Infovista Planet.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), installation standards, and construction drawings for telecom sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Communications field.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 5+ years of work experience in wireless communications.
• Proficiency with Pathloss 6 and Infovista Planet.
• Ability to perform occasional travel to client sites for surveys and system validation.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering License (PE).
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Hands-on configuration experience with radio vendors such as Nokia, Aviat, or Ericsson.
• Experience delivering technical workshops and client-facing presentations.
• Knowledge of Microwave frequency coordination and licensing.
