Location: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in New York City HQ). Candidates outside NYC/SF/SLC may be eligible for relocation assistance.
Salary: $146,500 – $183,000 USD (for NYC/SF)

What you will do
- Own end-to-end payroll processing for 500+ US employees, including salary, variable compensation, bonuses, and commissions.
- Manage all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, remittances, and multi-state compliance.
- Design and implement a robust, audit-ready payroll control framework and move toward SOX-ready standards.
- Identify and implement AI-powered tools and Rippling features to automate payroll reconciliation and reduce manual effort.
- Manage payroll tax withholding and processing for equity award transactions, including RSUs and stock options.
- Lead and develop the Payroll Coordinator and scale the payroll team as the company grows.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on payroll management experience with direct ownership of multi-state processing and tax compliance.
- Must be based in the US or be eligible for relocation to US offices.
- Deep command of U.S. payroll tax law and proven experience with equity compensation payroll.
- Hands-on experience with Rippling or similar modern HRIS/payroll platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- AI-forward mindset with the ability to leverage automation to transform financial operations.
Nice to have
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.
- Familiarity with international payroll.
