What you will do
- Source and acquire content from global distributors for linear and on-demand services such as Dave, Alibi, BBC Earth, and U.
- Negotiate complex deals across multiple territories while ensuring budget compliance and optimal value for money.
- Act as the strategic acquisitions lead and primary expert for services operating outside of the UK.
- Manage, mentor, and develop Global Acquisitions Executives and Assistants on a day-to-day basis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with content producers and distributors to ensure first-look access to new titles.
- Collaborate with editorial stakeholders across BBC Studios and to align acquisitions with brand strategy and performance targets.
Requirements
- Extensive negotiation experience in content acquisitions for broadcast or streaming services.
- Proven track record of acquiring or selling content within the UK and international markets.
- Deep understanding of programme rights, deal terms, and pre-buys for both scripted and unscripted content.
- Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Location: Must be based in London to support hybrid working requirements.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
