TL;DR

Accessibility Advisor: Develop and implement organizational change initiatives, policies, processes and educational programs that promote accessible and inclusive learning, living and working environments at hirify.global with an accent on disability related accommodations and universal design. Focus on determining and facilitating accommodations for students, faculty and staff, managing complex cases, and providing consultations on accessibility issues.

Hybrid: working from home as well as in the office on a set schedule required at hirify.global Vancouver campus. Some evening, weekend work and travel may be required.

$8,305.08 - $12,952.33 CAD Monthly

What you will do

• Develop and implement organizational change initiatives, policies, processes and educational programs promoting accessible environments.
• Determine and facilitate reasonable accommodations for students, faculty, staff and visitors based on disability documentation.
• Manage complex accommodation cases and provide consultations to faculty and staff on accessibility impacts.
• Conduct program evaluations, research projects and recommend improvements to policies and services.
• Liaise with community organizations, post-secondary institutions and government partners to enhance access.
• Promote awareness and education on post-secondary access for diverse student populations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and minimum five to six years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Considerable training and experience in disability issues, universal design and duty to accommodate in post-secondary settings.
• Relevant University or College experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities, design organizational change initiatives, and manage multiple tasks.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, public speaking, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to enhancing equity, diversity and inclusion knowledge.

• Graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience working with graduate students.
• Ability to envision and implement innovative programs, evaluate program impact.
