Head of Communications (Fintech)

Location: New York, hybrid; remote location type is also stated

Salary: $202,000–$232,050 annual base salary, plus equity and potential bonuses

What you will do

• Define and execute a long-term global communications strategy across executive, corporate, policy, internal, and product communications.
• Lead proactive media relations, press engagement, storytelling, and reputation management across financial and crypto outlets.
• Own internal and executive communications for regulated topics and major company milestones.
• Advise the CEO and executive team on communications strategy, narratives, recommendations, and decision-ready options.
• Use AI tools and systems to improve content development, research, and measurement.
• Coordinate external agencies, advisors, and cross-functional partners across regions and time zones.

Requirements

• 12+ years of communications experience, including senior leadership experience in technology, fintech, or financial services.
• Experience across executive, corporate, policy or regulatory, internal, and product communications, with deep expertise in at least one area.
• Proven media and press relations experience, including rebuilding brand presence in key media and industry forums.
• Experience partnering with C-level leaders as a trusted communications advisor.
• Experience in fintech companies or banks and the ability to operate across US and international markets.
• Strong relationships with, or demonstrated ability to build relationships with, finance and crypto reporters and outlets.

Nice to have

• Experience at crypto-native companies and building a strong brand and media footprint.
• Experience with regulatory or policy communications, especially in Washington, DC or other regulatory hubs.
• Experience building or scaling communications functions, including hiring and managing internal teams and agencies.
• Background in payments, fintech, or traditional finance with connections to finance reporters and publications.
