What you will do

• Own the application engineering strategy and execution across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
• Lead and grow a senior applications team consisting of backend, mobile, and desktop engineers.
• Set architectural direction for AI-powered product workflows, APIs, and client integrations.
• Collaborate with ML leadership to translate model capabilities into shippable product features.
• Manage high-impact technical trade-offs regarding latency, cost, reliability, and security.
• Establish production readiness including observability, monitoring, and privacy controls.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
• Strong hands-on background in building and shipping production-ready backend systems.
• Proven experience delivering AI-powered products and understanding model integration trade-offs.
• Expert-level system design skills across services, APIs, and data flows.
• Ability to operate across multiple platforms (backend, mobile, desktop).
• Must be based in the United Kingdom
