What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of complete automation project solutions within agreed budgets and timescales.
• Manage and allocate tasks among the engineering team, monitoring progress and advising the project manager on risks and issues.
• Develop comprehensive design documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Detailed Design Specifications (DDS).
• Create project modules such as PLC code, SCADA scripts, mimics, and communication drivers.
• Perform full integrated system testing, CFAT, SAT, and oversee site installation and commissioning.
• Support sales and proposals teams and provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Detailed experience in the full project life cycle from system specification through design, development, and on-site commissioning.
• Hands-on delivery experience with PLC and SCADA systems.
• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a relevant discipline.
• Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards professional registration.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Fareham office (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, AVEVA, or Ignition.
• Knowledge of MQTT, IoT systems, and Historians.
• Proficiency in industrial protocols such as OPC, IEC 61850, Profinet, and Modbus.
• Experience with OT Cyber Security, Functional Safety, and virtualized platforms like VMware & ESXi.
• Skills in database implementation and Ethernet network design.
