Design Engineer (Mechanical)

What you will do

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for rotating equipment and hydraulic systems from concept to production.
• Collaborate with project, systems, and stress teams to ensure designs meet customer performance and airworthiness requirements.
• Create accurate 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Siemens NX.
• Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysis to verify fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Participate in DFMEA and risk identification activities to mitigate technical risks early.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting, iterating designs based on test results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience).
• Practical experience in mechanical design (typically 3+ years).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred) and PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong communication skills for presenting design intent to customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to travel overseas.

Nice to have

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or actively working towards it).
• Experience with rotating equipment (gears, bearings, shafts) or hydraulic systems (valves, servos).
• Experience in safety-critical industries such as aerospace or nuclear.
