Director of Accessibility (Higher Education)

Location: United States, Remote with hybrid engagement and occasional campus involvement

What you will do

• Serve as institution-wide Section 504 Coordinator, ensuring compliance with ADA/ADAAA and federal regulations.
• Develop and implement accessibility policies, procedures, and standards across academic divisions.
• Oversee accommodation processes, assistive technologies, and services for students with disabilities.
• Monitor compliance, manage disputes and grievances, and escalate complex matters to leadership.
• Provide training to faculty and staff on disability law and best practices.
• Advise on regulatory changes and contribute to university initiatives on student success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or equivalent preferred
• 2–3+ years experience with ADA/504 in higher education
• Strong knowledge of Section 504, ADA/ADAAA, federal guidance, and case law
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail for documentation and records management
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate across departments
