What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to enhance performance.
• Monitor database health, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Manage and fine-tune databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB.
• Implement security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize schema design and data modeling.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a similar role.
• Expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, or Google Cloud Spanner.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation using Python, Bash, or SQL.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal for a fully onsite role.
