Database Administrator 5 (Database Administrator 1st Shift, Mon – Friday)

Location: Hybrid role based in Martinsburg, West Virginia, United States; first shift, Monday through Friday, with 24x7 on-call support one week per month. Duties may require travel.

Salary: $124,540–$160,000 annually.

What you will do

• Install, configure, harden, patch, upgrade, maintain, and administer production and development MSSQL 2022 instances.
• Perform database design, capacity planning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, query optimization, and tuning.
• Configure and maintain SQL Agent jobs, server audits, SSIS packages, and Always On Availability Groups.
• Work with developers to design, implement, and maintain applications using MSSQL 2022.
• Automate database administration tasks with PowerShell and administer MongoDB environments.
• Apply DISA, FISMA, and government best-practice STIGs, including Transparent Data Encryption and SSL encryption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline with 12 years of experience; up to 8 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Enterprise experience administering and setting up MongoDB.
• Ability to obtain one specified Microsoft database certification within six months, including MCSA, MCSE Data Platform, MCITP Database Administrator, or MCTS.
• Ability to pass a government Tier 2 Moderate Background Investigation.
• Strong writing, communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and attention to detail.
• Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support one week per month.
