TL;DR
Director, People Business Partner (SaaS): Architecting people-systems and human capital strategy for the R&D organization with an accent on aligning technical roadmaps with talent initiatives. Location: San Jose, California. Must be based in the US; requires working in office 3 days per week. Visa sponsorship is NOT available.

What you will do
- Consult with the CTO and SVP of Product to align workforce planning, org design, and culture initiatives with the technical roadmap.
- Lead the evolution of technical career ladders, ensuring clear growth paths from Individual Contributor to Principal/Architect and Management.
- Foster an R&D environment that balances high-velocity delivery and customer demands with a relentless and competitive culture.
- Coach and mentor technical leads and first-time people managers on feedback, conflict resolution, and team motivation.
- Analyze engagement data and turnover trends within the R&D group to provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Partner with Finance, Talent Acquisition, and People Ops to drive headcount strategy and organizational scalability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5+ years as a senior PBP supporting R&D in a high-growth SaaS or tech company.
- Deep literacy in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ability to distinguish between various technical roles (e.g., DevOps vs. Backend).
- Proven executive presence and ability to build trust and influence at the C-suite and VP levels.
- Demonstrated experience leading people strategies during periods of rapid scale, such as doubling headcount.
- Must be based in the US; Visa sponsorship is NOT available.
- BA/BS degree required.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in HR/Organizational Development).
- High-level HR certification (SHRM-SCP or SPHR).
- Experience integrating AI-driven insights and automation into talent analytics and organizational design.
