Salary: $150,800 - $184,200

What you will do

• Lead the First Line of Defense Operational Risk function for MDX, providing governance, oversight, and reporting across all business activities.
• Establish and mature the Operational Risk & Controls function by designing frameworks and standards aligned with enterprise programs.
• Coach and develop a team of risk and control professionals through clear objectives and performance evaluations.
• Drive consistent execution of risk assessments, including RCSAs, incident management, and issue management.
• Oversee control design and maintenance of the Process Risk & Control Inventory (PRCI) to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Partner with Technology and Enterprise Risk to design and implement automated controls that improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, operations, or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in operational risk management, internal controls, First Line of Defense oversight, or audit roles.
• 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Previous experience working in financial services or credit unions.
• Must be based in WA, TX, CA, ID, or SC.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree, MBA, or certifications such as CRISC, CRCM, CISA, PMP, or Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and automating operational controls.
• Advanced understanding of RCSA, incident management, and controls testing.
• Familiarity with PRCI frameworks and enterprise control management systems.
