Location: Hybrid in Manchester, UK (minimum 50% of working time per month in the office)

What you will do

• Conduct design effectiveness reviews of controls, create process maps, and resolve design failures.
• Perform operating effectiveness testing, identify root causes of deficiencies, and track remediation plans.
• Provide guidance and best practice advice to control owners on internal control improvements.
• Support the business with Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) to improve process maturity.
• Develop control indicators and utilize data analytics to assess overall control effectiveness.
• Prepare management information and compile findings for Executive and Board Committees.

Requirements

• Prior hands-on experience in risk, internal control, or audit, ideally within Financial Services.
• Competence in conducting design and operating effectiveness testing and documenting outcomes.
• Ability to produce well-structured written reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tight reporting deadlines.
• Analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Experience in assessing control design and overseeing remediation activities.

• Experience in driving internal control improvements through automation.
