What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and respond to normal and abnormal conditions of power plant equipment and auxiliaries including gas turbines, boilers, and steam systems.
• Take readings, maintain logs, record equipment issues, and document maintenance actions.
• Perform water chemistry analysis, operate water treatment equipment, and collaborate with vendors on chemistry programs.
• Visually inspect equipment, read meters and gauges, open/close valves and circuit breakers, and ensure operation within parameters.
• Follow safety policies including lock-out/tag-out, maintain cleaning stations, and comply with environmental permits.
• Work rotating shift schedule and assist other roles when major equipment is offline.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Massachusetts Third Class Engineers License (must hold and maintain)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating gas turbines, high pressure boilers, steam turbines, and Heat Recovery Steam Generators
• Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work, lift 50+ pounds, work in confined spaces, tolerate extreme conditions, and wear PPE including respirator.
• Kendall UWUA Local 369 Union membership required.
• Submit to pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of plant operations and energy markets relationship.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Good safety record.
