What you will do
- Manage and develop a distributed team of Alloy engineers, providing feedback and supporting career growth.
- Drive closer collaboration with the OpenTelemetry collector community and resolve technical roadblocks.
- Partner with go-to-market, product, and engineering leadership to integrate Alloy into the Grafana Cloud user experience.
- Guide projects from ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch to ensure high-quality results.
- Foster a psychologically safe environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across team boundaries to solve complex customer problems.
Requirements
- Domain knowledge in observability and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience managing autonomous engineering teams in a remote environment.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability and fault tolerance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones and cultures.
- Deep customer focus and the ability to align stakeholders.
- Comfort with AI-assisted tooling and agentic development.
