What you will do

• Lead the design and execution of novel methylation-based diagnostic tests.
• Manage project timelines, deliverable planning, and cross-functional communication.
• Develop and advance new research ideas and high-complexity experiments.
• Perform data analysis using R, JMP, and Excel.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics, data science, and engineering teams.
• Document research progress under a Quality Management System.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, genomics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience, or postdoctoral research with 3+ years in industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with NGS methods, including sample prep, library prep, and target enrichment.
• Proven track record of advancing NGS technologies from initial concept to product development.
• Significant experience in developing and executing automated assays on liquid handlers (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan).
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Carlos, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with epigenomic/methylation techniques and cfDNA.
• Background in oncology.
• Proficiency with Python and familiarity with bioinformatics workflows.
