What you will do

• Optimize protein expression in bacterial host strains using fermentation equipment.
• Perform and scale up protein purification using affinity and ion exchange chromatography (FPLC, HPLC).
• Conduct process optimizations to ensure final formulations meet stability and reproducibility specifications.
• Develop and document novel enzyme formulations and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate with R&D leads, biochemists, and engineers to drive product performance and company goals.
• Manage installation, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Requirements

• BS in biological sciences or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in the biotech industry or a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with microbial fermentation (10L - 300L scale).
• Proficiency in protein purification using FPLC and HPLC.
• Expertise in Tangential Flow (TFF) and Depth Filtration.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA, with flexibility for occasional early mornings, nights, or weekends.
