What you will do

• Lead technical projects and deliverables for NGS-based assays as a subject matter expert.
• Design, develop, and validate automated high-throughput NGS assays for commercial CLIA laboratories.
• Mentor junior employees and provide technical guidance within the biodevelopment group.
• Execute high-complexity experiments and perform data analysis using JMP, Python, R, or Excel.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with automation engineering, bioinformatics, and QA to meet rigorous quality standards.
• Author SOPs and documentation and oversee laboratory validation activities.

Requirements

• MS with 10+ years or PhD with 7+ years of experience in assay development and automation for the life science industry.
• Demonstrated track record of development and validation of automated protocols for CLIA labs.
• Strong understanding of nucleic acid extraction, NGS library preparation, and hybrid capture technologies.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting high-throughput automated assays utilizing liquid handler robots.
• Proficiency in data analysis using JMP.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Nice to have

• Experience working in regulated laboratory environments (CLIA/CAP, NYSDOH, IVD).
• Coding skills in Python or R.
• Liquid handler programming experience.
