Focus on troubleshooting PLC systems, robotic automation, and maintaining campus-wide electrical infrastructure.

Location: Onsite; must be based in British Columbia, Canada

Salary: $7,057.00 - $7,567.00 CAD Monthly

What you will do

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, diagnostic repairs, and installations of electrical and communications equipment across the university campus.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical drive systems, automation, robotic systems, and microprocessor-based (PLC) systems.
• Install and maintain hydraulic/pneumatic electrical control systems and emergency stand-by systems.
• Calibrate instrumentation devices using specialized test equipment and software.
• Respond to emergency trouble calls both during and outside normal working hours.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory codes, safety legislation, and provided technical drawings.

Requirements

• Trade certification as a Red Seal Electrician or Industrial Electrician.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Valid class 5 BC driver’s license.
• Perfect eyesight with respect to color blindness.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Certification as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
• Working knowledge of industrial safety regulations and building codes.
• Strong computer and software skills.
