Salary: $80,000–102,000 per year

What you will do

• Operate and monitor hydroelectric systems through inspections, performance tracking, and documentation.
• Set up and monitor preventative maintenance programs, including mechanical testing and repairs.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve plant alarms to minimize downtime (24/7 availability when on duty).
• Manage contractors for maintenance and repairs, and assist in daily planning.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and manage camp facilities for contractors.

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in similar role
• Red Seal Millwright training or equivalent; Journeyman industrial Millwright preferred
• BC driver’s license; experience with 4-wheel drives and snowmobiles required (Class 1/3 an asset)
• Hands-on self-starter with good communication skills
• Comfortable in remote camp (8 in / 6 out), travel via forest roads
• Commitment to ongoing education

Nice to have

• Experience in instrumentation, hydro plant operations, welding, fabrication
• Level 3 crane operator
