Education Strategic Planning Specialist (NOAA): Co-leading implementation of NOAA’s Education Strategic plan, convening communities of practice and coordinating inter-agency efforts with an accent on strategic planning and education coordination. Focus on managing meetings, data calls, budget formulation, and federal reporting for STEM education.

What you will do

• Co-lead implementation of NOAA’s Education Strategic plan and convene communities of practice/working groups.
• Coordinate and facilitate Education Council and Coordinating Committee meetings, pre-briefings, and support group meetings.
• Lead Council-wide strategies, maintain web pages, and manage 5-year strategic planning process.
• Oversee Unified Data Call, budget formulation, and respond to budget data requests.
• Manage annual reporting to OMB and White House OSTP, and coordinate communities of practice and D&I working groups.
• Develop Annual Operating Plan and presentation materials for Director of Education.

Requirements

• MA/MS in NOAA-related fields + 8+ years experience; PhD preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of earth systems, ocean, weather, climate, and place-based science/education.
• Experience with data collection from multiple sources and report development.
• Experience in strategic planning, analytical methods for program assessment/evaluation.
