TL;DR

People and Organizational Development Assistant (HR): Overseeing HR support for employees and student workers including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and policy advising with an accent on full-cycle appointments in Workday and compliance with union agreements. Focus on managing leaves, resolving discrepancies, and coordinating engagement initiatives.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Sauder School of Business, Vancouver Point Grey campus

Compensation Range: $4,739–$5,102 CAD Monthly

What you will do

  • Provide confidential HR support for recruitment, selection, onboarding, and full-cycle employee/student appointments in Workday.
  • Advise on hirify.global HR policies, collective agreements, leaves, benefits, and terminations.
  • Manage payroll documents, data compliance, and resolve Workday discrepancies with ISC.
  • Support orientation, engagement events, and student worker HR processes.
  • Maintain personnel data, compile reports, and ensure regulatory compliance (ESA, CRA, WorkSafe BC).

Requirements

  • High school graduation and two-year post-secondary diploma with 4 years relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills in Word and Excel; intermediate in Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS tools; Workday experience an asset.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational skills; ability to multitask under pressure and handle confidential information.
  • Typing 60 wpm; knowledge of office procedures and union environments preferred.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and respecting diverse perspectives.

Nice to have

  • Human Resources diploma or BA in HR.
  • Experience in complex union environments and University policies.
