IT Support Technician

TL;DR

IT Support Technician (Windows/Network): Providing first and second-line support, hardware/software provisioning, and infrastructure maintenance with an accent on on-premises and cloud environments. Focus on resolving IT issues remotely and in-person, administering user accounts, and maintaining backups and networks.

Location: Hybrid in Colchester office, willingness to travel twice a month to Theale, Reading office. Subject to BPSS security clearance.

What you will do

• Provide first-line and second-line IT support, resolving issues remotely and in person.
• Provision and deploy hardware and software.
• Administer user accounts on-premises and in the cloud.
• Maintain backup infrastructure and physical network.
• Assist in documenting IT processes and deploying new software systems and servers.

Requirements

• Enthusiasm for IT and technology.
• Understanding of Windows operating systems, network infrastructure, and Windows servers.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware and Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel twice a month to Theale, Reading office.
• IT qualification desirable – at least A-Level or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Windows domains.
• IT Security including Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud environments.
• Understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of virtualization and containerization concepts.
