Systems Engineer (AWS)

Systems Engineer (AWS): Operate and engineer massive-scale cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, and IoT services with an accent on troubleshooting, automation, and operational excellence. Focus on Linux systems administration, network connectivity resolution, scripting for efficiency, and implementing best practices for 24/7 high-availability environments.

Location: GBR, London. Must be a UK national able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Dive deep into root causes of customer issues and metric trends.
• Troubleshoot Linux systems, innovate fixes, keep software updated, and manage capacity with data and metrics.
• Identify and resolve network connectivity issues using networking knowledge.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, communicate clearly, and deliver results in a collaborative environment.
• Implement Operational Excellence practices and automate manual processes for out-of-hours support.
• Support development and management of AWS foundational services like EC2 and S3.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• UK national able to obtain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience in 24/7 production environments.
• Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
• Experience working in at least two of: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of configuration management systems like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experience in SRE, systems engineering, DevOps, security, or network administration.
• Experience in network capture and systems troubleshooting.
• Experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale environments.
