Salary: $129,500 – $217,700 per year

What you will do

• Lead patent strategy and portfolio management, including identifying inventions and pruning.
• Guide inventors through the disclosure process and make filing and abandonment decisions.
• Manage outside patent counsel for drafting and prosecution to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee patent operations such as docketing, maintenance, and annuities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for open-source licensing and governance.
• Provide product counseling on AI/ML features and model-use considerations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of IP practice experience, including meaningful in-house experience at a technology or software company.
• Substantial experience with patent drafting and prosecution for software or AI-related inventions.
• Working knowledge of open-source licensing and compliant use.
• J.D. with active state bar admission or eligibility for in-house registration.
• Must be based in the United States.
