Refugee Employability Officer (Humanitarian)

What you will do

• Conduct individual assessments to identify skills and create realistic Individual Support Plans.
• Deliver tailored job readiness coaching and workshops, including CV development and interview preparation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to facilitate direct placements and inclusive recruitment.
• Provide guidance on small-scale self-employment and UK start-up compliance requirements.
• Manage accurate case noting and database reporting to evidence client progress.
• Collaborate with Jobcentre Plus (DWP) and other statutory employment support services.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout Hampshire.
• Minimum two years of experience delivering employability support to refugees, migrants, or vulnerable populations.
• Strong knowledge of the local Hampshire employment context and the UK labor market.
• Proficiency in MS Office and online platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Ability to communicate in Dari, Pashto, or other relevant community languages.
• Lived experience of forced migration, resettlement, or navigating UK employment systems.
• Experience supporting clients with self-employment pathways and UK start-up basics.
