TL;DR

Senior Claims Examiner (Insurance): Adjudicating and resolving moderate to complex commercial general liability claims with an accent on litigation management and reserve accuracy. Focus on negotiating settlements, identifying fraudulent claims, and optimizing defense counsel utilization.

Location: Hybrid. Must be based in one of the following locations: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Manhattan, Scottsdale, or West Hartford (minimum 2 days per week in office).

Salary: $80,000–$110,000

What you will do

• Adjudicate assigned claims within given authority and provide operational support to the claims team.
• Resolve moderate to complex claims involving all phases of litigation.
• Draft coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters.
• Analyze claim documentation and legal filings to set timely and accurate reserves.
• Identify emerging exposures, claims trends, and suspected fraudulent claims.
• Drive litigation best practices to manage deployment and utilization of defense counsel.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of claims handling experience in commercial general liability with an insurance carrier.
• Advanced knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices.
• Proven ability to effectively negotiate settlements of moderate to complex claims.
• Active insurance adjuster’s license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
