Energy Architectural Engineer

TL;DR

Energy Architectural Engineer (Automotive): Perform analysis to predict and optimize electrified range, fuel economy, 0-60 performance, top speed, and drive quality for advanced vehicle programs with an accent on integrated solutions and closed-loop learning. Focus on developing predictive models, supporting technical reviews, and leading cross-functional issue resolution for balanced vehicle performance.

Location: Warren, Michigan (hybrid - report to office at least 3 days/week). No immigration sponsorship; must have work authorization. Travel <25%.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize fuel economy/range, drive quality, and vehicle performance to meet technical and customer requirements.
• Complete analysis for program development, predictive improvements, and hardware model correlation.
• Support technical peer reviews for vehicle and subsystem requirements.
• Share lessons learned and apply to future programs, including competitive benchmarking.
• Proactively communicate with stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams for issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years relevant experience.
• Knowledge of current/advanced vehicle/propulsion technologies for fuel economy, electric range, drive quality.
• High analytical ability for unusual/difficult problems; independent problem-solving.
• Strong written/verbal presentation skills for complex concepts.
• Matlab/Simulink experience required; VERDE model preferred.
• Energy adjacent experience recommended; global vehicle development process familiarity.

Nice to have

• Master's Degree in Engineering.
