What you will do

• Lead building energy modeling, audits, and technical studies for new and existing constructions.
• Develop and evaluate decarbonization, electrification, and energy efficiency strategies.
• Serve as the technical lead on energy-focused projects, providing guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and sustainability teams for integrated solutions.
• Conduct site investigations and field observations to validate system performance.
• Mentor junior Energy Engineers through technical guidance and professional development feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in energy modeling, decarbonization planning, or building performance engineering.
• Proficiency with energy modeling platforms such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus, Cove.tool, or IES-VE.
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and building codes.
• Must be based in or able to work in Buffalo, NY (Hybrid).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as PE, CEM, BEMP, LEED AP, or WELL AP.
