What you will do

• Design and implement backend systems, APIs, and services for AI agent identity and authorization.
• Own features end-to-end from technical design to production, ensuring reliability and security.
• Develop integrations for agents to securely acquire and use access credentials.
• Define industry patterns for agent identity, delegated access, and trust boundaries.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to shape the Auth0 platform's AI capabilities.
• Mentor teammates and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping production-grade backend systems and APIs at scale.
• Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript, Go, or Python.
• Strong system design skills and a security-conscious mindset regarding credential handling.
• Experience working in ambiguous, fast-paced product engineering environments.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, FAPI, or token-based access control.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, orchestration tools, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Background in developing developer-facing APIs or SDKs.
