Salary: $201,000 - $265,000 base + bonus + equity

What you will do

• Lead the design of an agentic platform that automates LLM-based data discovery, metadata enrichment, and governance.
• Partner with the Machine Learning team to bridge the gap between core algorithms and scalable production systems.
• Own high-stakes design reviews, mentor senior individual contributors, and ensure Google-scale reliability standards.
• Act as a site anchor in NYC, driving hiring and establishing the engineering culture for a growing team.

Requirements

• 8+ years in data engineering, backend infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• 2+ years in formal people management or high-impact tech-lead roles.
• Proven track record of building scalable platforms that handle multimodal data (structured grid and unstructured imagery/spatial data).
• Deep understanding of data governance, multi-tenancy, and "data-as-a-product" philosophies.
• Must be based in New York, NY to serve as a hub anchor.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in "zero-to-one" environments or building new geographic engineering sites.
• Experience building LLM-orchestrated data pipelines or autonomous agent frameworks.
• Background in geospatial data or physical system modeling.
