Manager I, Engineering - Core Analytics

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 USD per year, plus equity and possible variable compensation

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a hands-on team of 2–4 data engineers across Paris and New York.
• Define the architecture, priorities, and roadmap for the Core Analytics Data Access Platform.
• Build scalable, secure data pipelines, platform services, APIs, and production data access layers.
• Contribute substantially to system design, coding, code reviews, and delivery of critical platform components.
• Partner with Applied AI, Product Analytics, product managers, and platform teams on data contracts, SLAs, observability, and curated datasets.
• Implement access controls, data lineage, monitoring, compliance guardrails, and operational practices for platform scaling.

Requirements

• Experience as a hands-on engineering manager who continues to contribute to design and code.
• Practical experience building ETL/ELT, streaming or batch workflows, and production data servicing layers at scale.
• Production experience with AWS, Spark, and Iceberg or equivalent table formats and compute frameworks.
• Experience working with applied ML teams, data scientists, and analytics consumers on model training and analysis.
• Experience defining SLAs, building observability, responding to incidents, and enforcing data governance in production.
• Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term architecture and make effective platform trade-offs.
