Location: Must be based in or be able to work from offices in Geneva (Switzerland) or London (UK); hybrid setup with a strong emphasis on face-to-face collaboration

What you will do

• Define and execute the strategic vision for design, bridging product and brand to deliver a unified global experience.
• Lead, recruit, and scale a world-class design organization, fostering a culture of creativity and user-centricity.
• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership to embed design into strategic roadmaps and marketing campaigns.
• Oversee the end-to-end design process, including user research, UX/UI, prototyping, and visual design for all major product lines.
• Drive the evolution of design systems, tools, and processes to ensure efficiency and quality at scale.
• Represent the company externally by speaking at conferences and building Proton's design reputation.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in design leadership roles at a global technology company or agency.
• Proven track record of building and operating multi-disciplinary design organizations.
• Expertise in both product design (UX/UI, service design) and brand/marketing design.
• Demonstrated ability to execute design strategies that drive business impact (growth, retention, brand equity).
• Deep user-centered design mindset with a strong portfolio covering research through to final visuals.
• Fluent in English with polished presentation and storytelling skills.
