Senior Software Development Manager (SDN): Leading the engineering efforts for the TeraWave SDN and Beam Planning team to build the central nervous system of a next-generation LEO satellite constellation with an accent on multi-terabit traffic flows and RF beam optimization. Focus on designing custom SDN controllers, managing complex laser inter-satellite links, and ensuring five-nines reliability for a global constellation.
Location: Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or Bay Area, CA. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Salary: $197,004 - $275,805

What you will do
- Drive the architecture and delivery of a custom SDN controller for highly dynamic LEO topologies.
- Oversee the development of beam planning algorithms to optimize phased-array antenna resources and power constraints.
- Design and deliver software for laser inter-satellite links and gateway handoffs to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Own the ground segment software stack, including integration with Points of Presence and core fiber networks.
- Build observability, telemetry, and automated remediation tools to achieve five-nines reliability.
- Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development.
- 5+ years of experience managing managers or leading large engineering organizations.
- Deep knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS) and SDN principles.
- Direct experience with LEO constellation dynamics, orbital mechanics, and ISL management.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience managing 24/7 Network Operations Centers (NOC) for Tier-1 ISPs or cloud providers.
- Familiarity with free-space optical communications and laser terminal topology optimization.
- Experience with high-fidelity network simulators for capacity planning and orbital modeling.
