Director of Operational Excellence

TL;DR

Director of Operational Excellence: Lead enterprise Lean and Operational Excellence strategy across manufacturing and distribution network with an accent on roadmap development, governance, and hands-on deployment. Focus on scaling Enterprise Operating System, conducting value stream mapping and Kaizen events, and driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and asset reliability.

Location: Hybrid role reporting to Deerfield office (Illinois) 3x per week (Tue, Wed, Thu), remote option on Mon & Fri. Ability to travel up to 30-50% required.

Salary: $150,000 USD - $230,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead enterprise Lean strategy, roadmap, and governance for consistent performance across sites.
• Deploy and scale Enterprise Operating System aligned to business priorities.
• Provide hands-on leadership for Lean milestones like value stream mapping and Kaizen events.
• Partner with site leaders to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and reliability.
• Standardize OpEx metrics, operating rhythms, and dashboards for accountability.
• Present progress and roadmaps to executive leadership using data insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 7 years hands-on Lean/CI experience; strong background in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Daily Management, Kaizen.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in large-scale manufacturing operations or multiple sites.
• Strong project management, influence, change management, and analytics skills (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Ability to travel 30-50%.
