What you will do

• Partner with product, engineering, and design leadership to embed legal requirements into development cycles and feature launches.
• Champion the adoption and implementation of AI-powered legal tools for contract review, regulatory monitoring, and research.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including partnership deals and financial institution contracts.
• Monitor regulatory changes in fintech, payments, and consumer lending to provide actionable guidance to leadership.
• Manage outside counsel relationships with a focus on reducing spend through AI-enabled efficiency.
• Advise on intellectual property strategy, including patent filings and trademark management.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• Must be based in the United States.
• 8+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience at a fintech, payments, or financial services company.
• Hands-on experience with AI legal tools such as Harvey, CoCounsel, Ironclad AI, or Spellbook.
• Strong knowledge of consumer financial regulations, including FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, EFTA, Reg E, and Reg B.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams.
