What you will do

• Own day-to-day product and regulatory counseling partnering with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Ops from design through launch.
• Shape building and shipping in regulated space by translating U.S. payments requirements into product guardrails and internal guidance.
• Drive contracting engine: negotiate and draft customer agreements while maintaining fast cycle times.
• Create leverage through playbooks, checklists, and templates for repeat issues.
• Pitch in as generalist on important matters as needed in a small team.

Requirements

• 4–6 years practicing law (mix of law firm + in-house preferred), some in-house at tech or fintech company.
• Foundation in U.S. financial regulatory issues for payments/money movement (consumer protection, payment rails, partner models).
• Strong product-counseling instincts to turn ambiguity into practical recommendations and tradeoffs.
• Solid drafting and negotiation skills for agreements.
• Clear written communication to build trust in remote environment.
• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Nice to have

• Experience with bank partners, processors, card/prepaid programs, or regulated payments infrastructure.
• Supporting audits/exams, regulator diligence, or managing outside counsel.
