TL;DR

Internal Controls Lead: Design, execute, and maintain an effective internal control environment over financial reporting and adjacent processes with an accent on SOX testing lifecycle, risk assessment, and remediation plans. Focus on partnering with cross-functional teams to perform root cause analyses, create control narratives and flowcharts, and drive Finance’s AI strategy through safe AI deployment controls.

Hybrid role working from NYC office 2-4 days per week.

Cash Compensation Range: $100,000 - $161,000 USD

What you will do

• Drive Finance’s AI strategy by designing controls for safe AI deployment and use.
• Own designing, executing, and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting.
• Manage SOX testing lifecycle from planning to year-end testing.
• Partner with process owners on root cause analyses and remediation plans.
• Ensure effective risk assessment and control frameworks.
• Create and maintain control narratives, flowcharts, and risk matrices.
• Support identification of business and technology risks and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 6-7+ years in internal controls, internal/external audit, and accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Working knowledge of COSO 2013 and COBIT frameworks
• Proven ability to execute controls and audit strategies
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and process improvement skills
• Effective communication skills
