What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial agreements for purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, and software licenses.
• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with contractual matters, supplier relationships, and supply chain disruptions.
• Assist in resolving contract-related claims, disputes, and other legal matters arising with vendors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and procurement teams to provide actionable, business-focused legal advice.
• Develop and improve legal department processes and tools to increase operational efficiency and scalability.
• Stay current on emerging legal and regulatory trends impacting supply chain operations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with a state bar (preferably New York).
• Over five (5) years of legal experience in supply chain, procurement, and commercial transactions.
• Deep knowledge of contract law, commercial law (including the UCC), and international trade regulations.
• Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with industry regulations related to aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.
• Experience with government contracting and compliance (e.g., FAR/DFARS).
• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software.
