TL;DR
Contracts Manager (Defense): Managing the proposal, negotiation, and execution of a diverse portfolio of contracts for Air Traffic Management and Defense business units with an accent on risk mitigation and financial optimization. Focus on leading complex negotiations with domestic and international government customers and ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR.
Location: East Syracuse, NY. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Salary: $101,600 - $132,000

What you will do
- Negotiate complex terms and conditions with domestic, international, and government customers.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from the capture phase through close-out.
- Ensure strict compliance with FAR, DFARS, and export control requirements (ITAR).
- Review proposals (RFPs/RFQs) to identify and mitigate contractual risks while maximizing financial results.
- Provide technical contractual guidance to internal stakeholders and business management.
- Lead efforts to evaluate and improve existing contractual processes and documentation.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business or related field with 13+ years of experience, or MBA/JD with 11+ years of experience.
- Proven experience managing and negotiating commercial and defense contracts.
- Expertise in FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations.
- Strong ability to analyze risk regarding liability, intellectual property, and international law.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
- Ability to travel up to 25% annually, both domestically and internationally.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as CCM, CFCM, or CPCM.
- Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and information security terms and regulations.
- Experience working with Oracle ERP.
