Location: Hybrid (Sydney, Australia); expectation to be in office at least twice per week
Salary: $159,100 – $238,700 AUD

What you will do
- Lead a newly established engineering team in the APAC region, collaborating in a triad with Product and Design leadership.
- Design and implement technical solutions optimized for scalability and reliability to solve complex customer challenges.
- Provide high-quality technical guidance through code reviews and architecture documentation.
- Actively contribute to projects through coding and technical oversight while coordinating with global teams.
- Manage direct reports through 1:1s to support their career growth and professional development.
- Drive the hiring process to expand the engineering team's capacity and talent.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of success in people leadership within software development.
- Strong background in hands-on software development and experience with large-scale SaaS products.
- Proficiency in Agile processes and a diverse technical knowledge base.
- Must be based in Sydney, Australia to comply with hybrid work requirements.
- Proven ability to motivate, coach, and retain top engineering talent.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or Python.
- Familiarity with Claude Code.
- A defined philosophy on building and managing great software development teams.
