Salary: $159,100 – $238,700 AUD

• Lead a newly established engineering team in the APAC region, collaborating in a triad with Product and Design leadership.
• Design and implement technical solutions optimized for scalability and reliability to solve complex customer challenges.
• Provide high-quality technical guidance through code reviews and architecture documentation.
• Actively contribute to projects through coding and technical oversight while coordinating with global teams.
• Manage direct reports through 1:1s to support their career growth and professional development.
• Drive the hiring process to expand the engineering team's capacity and talent.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of success in people leadership within software development.
• Strong background in hands-on software development and experience with large-scale SaaS products.
• Proficiency in Agile processes and a diverse technical knowledge base.
• Must be based in Sydney, Australia to comply with hybrid work requirements.
• Proven ability to motivate, coach, and retain top engineering talent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or Python.
• Familiarity with Claude Code.
• A defined philosophy on building and managing great software development teams.
