What you will do
- Manage and mentor a team of security engineers through 1:1s, career development planning, and performance reviews.
- Define and prioritize quarterly and annual security initiatives aligned with frameworks like NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or SOC 2.
- Partner with Platform, SRE, Legal, and IT teams to embed security into the SDLC and incident response processes.
- Drive product and cloud security posture across AWS infrastructure, ensuring secure architecture and continuous monitoring.
- Oversee vulnerability management including SAST, DAST, SCA, and bug bounty programs.
- Manage the security budget, justify tooling spend, and coordinate headcount requests.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience managing a team of security engineers or technical ICs.
- Must be based in the US (no visa sponsorship available).
- Deep familiarity with AWS cloud security, Application Security (web apps and authentication), EDR, and device management.
- Experience overseeing AppSec tooling and building/tuning detections in a SIEM.
- Track record of navigating competing priorities across engineering, SRE, platform, and legal organizations.
- Experience leading AI-forward teams and leveraging AI tooling to increase execution speed and quality.
