What you will do
- Serve as the founding legal partner for the health business, advising on US healthcare regulatory and privacy considerations.
- Advise on telehealth requirements, including CPOM, multi-state licensing, and prescribing restrictions.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and consumer protection laws during product development.
- Provide strategic guidance on US privacy laws including HIPAA/HITECH, CCPA, and the Washington My Health My Data Act.
- Define and operationalize policies for handling sensitive user health and quasi-health data.
- Build foundational compliance infrastructure, including HIPAA readiness and data governance practices.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of legal experience focused on healthcare regulations, with in-house or law firm experience advising digital health or telehealth companies.
- Deep expertise in telehealth regulatory compliance (CPOM, multi-state licensing).
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH and state consumer data privacy frameworks.
- Experience applying AKS, FCA, and Stark Law to complex business models.
- JD from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Nice to have
- Experience advising consumer technology companies at the intersection of health and digital platforms.
- Exposure to 340B program requirements.
- Background in consumer-facing health product development and marketing review.
