Controls System Engineer (Embedded): Developing machine safety, productivity, and task autonomy solutions for earthmoving equipment with an accent on remote control and collision mitigation systems. Focus on designing control algorithms for sensing and planning, and integrating embedded software with hardware.

What you will do

• Research and develop advanced electronic control system solutions for machine safety, productivity, and autonomy.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to verify, release, and validate solutions with operators and customers.
• Develop algorithms for sensing, planning, and control systems for Medium Tractor Products.
• Debug complex systems involving hardware and software components via on-machine tuning and proving ground testing.
• Participate in the full R&D lifecycle from launch to production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and their application in machine control.
• Proficiency in requirements analysis and technical troubleshooting of hardware and software.
• Ability to design, plan, and execute product testing strategies.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Peoria, IL; role requires 5 days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of machine dynamics, kinematics, and control algorithm theory.
• Experience with AI, deep learning integration, and perception solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Matlab/Simulink, C++, or ROS.
• Experience developing and testing systems on track-type tractor machines.
